Events in 2009
International Day for Poverty Eradication
The actual activities will start on the 12th and 13th of October with a Multicultural Exhibition (World Food, Music, Traditions, Arts), a "Living Library" with "books" representing people from developing countries who will share the experiences from their own countries and a film screening on youth in developing countries followed by an informal debate.On the 16th of October we will organise a World Cafe on youth involvement in the fight against poverty.
We will also have "GCAP mobile teams" which will visit on the 16th of October the platform's main institutional and non-governmental partners (embassies, UN Agencies, Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, other NGOs) and have "Stand Up" moments.

October 17: International Day for Poverty Eradication
On the eve of October 17, during the MDG conference which gathered around 100 persons (representatives from FOND member organizations, other representatives from the Romanian civil society, UNDP Romania, Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
Deputy Chamber, Prime Minister's Office, UK Embassy, public institutions and mass media such as radio, newspapers and tv stations- ), the GCAP Romania focal point, Claudia Iatan, gave an informative speech on the GCAP campaign and the worldwide innitiative striving to beat a new world record to support the fight against poverty and inequality. Stand Up and Speak Out posters were put inside the conference hall and at the receptioan and informational material was given at the entrance to the participants.
