Wake-Up to Poverty! on Saturday 10th. September - WHITE BAND DAY II.
Mongolian coalition meet with UN Representative
With great enthusiasm and participation, 300 distinguished guests and representatives were invited to attend a two day meeting on September 9th-10th 2005 in Mongolia's capital Ulaanbaatar. As an event to introduce the Global Call to Action Against Poverty and discuss the Millennium Development Goals, representatives from diverse organizations and groups engaged in effective dialogue, discussion and planning of a statement about the progress of the MDGs in Mongolia and for the poor. Moreover, to complement the GCAP White Band Day 2: Wake up to Poverty theme, leading up to the World Summit, Ms. Mita Vakaiwaks, the Vice Representative to the UN of Mongolia, attended to receive the statement on behalf of Ms. Pratiba the UN representative of Mongolia. There was also a presentation of Whitebands to guests, tokens of appreciation to distinguished participants, and a colorful cultural event adding light to the progress and development with Mongolia's communities and local organizations.
This launching brings great optimism to the GCAP alliance in the region and for Mongolia itself in expanding opportunities for international networking and linkages.
