Launch of the Stand Up and Speak Out 2007 event
Ceremony organized by GCAP Sri Lanka with the sponsorship of SUNFO and CCF Sri Lanka - At BMICH Convention Center , Colombo on July 20,2007
- Chief Guest: Represented the His Excellency president and the Government of Sri Lanka by Hon.Minister Mr. Piyasena Gamage.
- Guests of Honours: His Worship Henri Broner-Mayor from France and Madam Lucie Nussli-City Council Member from France
- Key note address : Prof L.Madurasinghe
- Inauguration of Stand Up-Speak Out event by Dr.Deshapriya S. Wijetune-GCAP Coordinator
- Participants: over 500 from civil society, religious dignitary , youth, media and GCAP ember organizations through out the island.
In this ceremony National excellence Participation award for CCF Sri Lanka (Year 2006- Stand Up Guinness Record) was presented. Stand Up against Poverty and Stand Up for MGS Photo Exhibition was held at BMICH parallel to this ceremony.

Millennium Development House Handing Over Ceremony on July 20, 2007 at Meepe, Padukka , Sri Lanka .
GCAP Sri Lanka theme for the Women’s Day was MDG & Victims of War. We had women’s demonstrations and meetings were held. One Community service protects was initiated by SUNFO Women’s Congress to build a house for war victimized family from Easter Province having mother and three daughters. Foundation laying ceremony was held on March 8. The house was named as “Millennium Development House”.
After completion of the work (Land and building cost US $ 11500) hading over ceremony was held at the premises. Parallel to handing over the house meeting of War Victimized families and public was held in front of the house.

Launch of the Sri Lanka Banner Project on the United Nations International Youth Day at the BMICH, Convention Center, Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Youth Day Theme: " Achieve MDGS in Sri Lanka in a peaceful and non-violence Path"
This programme was sponsored by SUNFO, Ranasinghe Trading Co, Jobenvoy Companyand Assaidua International.
Dr. Deshapriya S. Wijetunge, National Coordinator GCAP Sri Lanka addressed the audience about the Banner Project and Stand Up Event on October. All agreed to support the project. Then all stood-Up and shouted three times" We launched the Banner Project in Sri Lanka - We will Stand Up and Speak Out Agaist Poverty and for MDGS"
Two books were presented at the Ceremony:
- "Esthree" (Women) writen by Ms. Manel Illapperuma, GCAP Sri Lanka Deputy Coordinator/ Chairperson Central Council of Sri Lanka and Director National NGO Network of Sri Lanka
- "Jeewithawabodaya thulin Athwamabidaya"-(SDevelopment of the life by elf identification) Written by Educational director/Sarvodaya Director and SUNFO Counselling Coordinator Mrs. Claudia iddamalgoda.
