1. Whiteband Campaign Concert:

The White Band campaign concert will be held on 17th Oct. from 17:00~22:00. It will be broadcasted nationwide through ‘KBS’ on 20th Oct, 2007. Working on inviting VIP’s on the day of the concert. If not they can be present, video message from the VIP’s will be displayed. Some of the lists of the VIP’s are: Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MOFAT), ambassadors in Korea (Official letter sent), Chairman of ‘KOICA’ and candidates for the 2007 presidential election. Time: 19:00 ~ 21:30
Venue: Yeouido Park (close to Korean National Assembly Building)
Broadcasting Time: October 20 (Sat.) from 13:35 ~ 14: 30, KBS 1 TV
Guest (Singers): Kim Jang-Hun, Lee Min-Woo, Lee Soo-Young, Wui Seoung, Wondergirls, VOS, Yang Hee-Eun, Lim Jung-Hee
VIP Guest or Video Message: Minister of MOFAT, Ambassadors in Korea, Candidates for the 2007 Presidential election. Chairman of KOICA, Representative from Hyundai Motors.

We expect around 3,000 people will come and join our concert.

2. Online Campaign:

- On-line campaign had already started from Oct.1st ~Oct.20th.

- people can scrap 3 different video messages. Messages are mainly regarding joining anti-poverty movement (2 from already made in abroad, one made by Korea GCAP)

- besides, they can sign up for “eradicating poverty”

- about 20,000 signs already received. Please find more information here

3. Statement Issue:

Official letters are being distributed to NGO’s and members of the National Assembly. We will promote them to sign up our statement as many as possible.
* Press conference will be held on October, 16(Tue.) 10:30 in front of KOICA’s office.

4. Brochure & Campaign Posters:

- Brochures and posters have been newly made
- Will be soon sent to other organizations
- Put up a poster nationwide, and distributed all brochures.

5. Hanging the White Banners:

- Some organizations already took part in white band banner campaign. More will be joining soon.
So far, UNICEF, Save The Children, Good Neighbors International, World Vision Korea, YMCA Korea KOICA, MOFAT, etc. joined the hanging the white banners~ find the pictures of the banners hanging. Here.

6. Innovating website of ‘Korean NGOs Network Against Global Poverty’

7. SKT Mobile Campaign

Receiving donations from the ‘SKT’ mobile users. ‘SKT’ is a well known telecommunication company in Korea.

8. Whiteband Souvenirs

- Whiteband campaign T-shirts,. Mobile accessories, books shall be sold during the campaign.

9. Goodwill Ambassadors to be Photographed

- Goodwill ambassadors of the different organizations gather together for photographs, by Jo-Se-Hyeon, a well known photo artist in Korea. See the Korean Photo Gallery

10. Youth Participation USAN (United Student ActioN)

- Korean Youth Network USAN also will participate in our whiteband campaign.
- Street Campaign on October 14(Sun.) 2007 in In Sa-Dong Street
- White Umbrella Campaign with whiteband Concert on October 17, 2007
- GCAP Korea supported USAN activities financially and USAN Members help us to distribute our Concert poster and brochures. We will jointly work until whiteband campaign end.
