October 17 events

The Poverty Action Network of civil society organizations in Ethiopia (PANE) is bringing its member CSOs together to mark this year’s Int’l Day for the Eradication Of Poverty on and around October 17. PANE and its members will engage in a massive Stand Up and Speak Out event, where they would demand for political decision makers to address the needs of the poor, particularly of poor women in Ethiopia. The main event will be held at the National Theatre, where a panel discussion on the MDGs vis-à-vis Ethiopia, a song on poverty, a documentary film depicting the nation’s battle against poverty, a Stand Up and Speak Out moment as well as a press conference will take place.
