White Band Day 2 - Sri Lanka

During the White Band Day celebrations in Sri Lanka, more than 1000 children and young people came together to commemorate the day and to remember the victims of the tsunami. The children were given white bands and together chanted for an end to poverty. Later in the day, a lamp lighting ceremony was also held to mark the day’s celebrations; events also took place in 15 districts across Sri Lanka.
