White Band Day 2 - Cameroon

The GCAP coalition in Cameroon organised a day of public activity on 10th September with over 1500 people coming to support the events which took place next to the UN buildings from 0845 – 1430. A wide range of people from the community attended with many young people and families supporting the events. The day started with prayers, singing and a speech from one of the Cameroon GCAP coalition representatives. Then there was a poignant moment of silence in memory of people who have lost their lives to poverty around the world. Flowers were placed next to the UN buildings and many people gave testimonies and expressed their views on poverty and issues relating to the MDG’s. The day continued with traditional dance displays and discussions followed by refreshments.
