White Band Day 1 - Somalia

On 30th June 2005, a Press Conference on Global Call to Action against Poverty was held in Mogadishu at Hotel Sahafi 2, where over thirty local journalists, radio and TV reporters from Radio Horn Afric, Radio Shabelle, Radio Benadir, Radio East Africa, Radio I.Q. K, Radio Hamar, and numerous website reporters attended. Moreover, over sixty Somali young people and dignitaries took part in this global event, which is aimed at eliminating poverty and calling upon the G8 countries to totally exempt Somalia and the other developing countries from their accumulated debts.
