White Band Day 1 - Georgia

A new campaign has been launched in Georgia, where campaigners and members of the public are joining with thousands of others across the world to call for an end to global poverty. “Future without Poverty” is the name of the campaign being led by a group of more than 40 non-government organizations (NGOs). A string of activities was organized to coincide with the first International White Band Day on 1 July 2005 –a date when everyone was encouraged to a wear white wristband, the symbol of the worldwide campaign.
