Standing Tall Against Poverty Concert

An unprecedented 15 hour-long concert was held in Ghana on Saturday 3 September. The concert aimed to raise awareness on global poverty issues, build support for Global Call to Action against Poverty (GCAP) coalition and unite poor countries across Africa in their call for leaders to work towards ending world poverty. The musical extravaganza, which was held in Independence Square – a famous location for national celebrations in Accra - was organised by the national and regional GCAP coalitions in Africa, and brought together the biggest African music stars and spokespeople.
