Puppet stunt for World Bank-IMF meetings

Two puppeteers representing the IMF and World Bank dangled two life-sized puppets wearing 'debt deal' signs from giant strings in front of the World Bank building in Washington today (23 September), as the IMF-World Bank Annual meetings begin. Their message was to show that the World Bank and IMF should agree to the G8 deal on debt cancellation with no strings or harmful conditions attached. Puppets: Aditi Kapoor of India and Fletcher Tembo of Malawi. Puppeteers (IMF/WB): Ian Matthews, top right, and Matt Thompson, top left.
