11/10/07 - Palestine stand up and speaks out against poverty and inequality

On October 17, over a million of Palestinian men, women and children throughout the West Bank and Gaza will stand up and speakout against poverty and inequality

On October 17, over a million of Palestinian men, women and children throughout the West Bank and Gaza will stand up and speakout against poverty and inequality by taking part in demonstrations, candle light vigils, artistic performances and school activities as part of the Global Call to Action Against Poverty and the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.

Palestine 2007-10-11

On October 17, over a million of Palestinian men, women and children throughout the West Bank and Gaza will stand up and speakout against poverty and inequality by taking part in demonstrations, candle light vigils, artistic performances and school activities as part of the Global Call to Action Against Poverty and the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.

In Ramallah, a large demonstration will take place at 3pm at the Orthodox Club Square , followed by artistic performances at the Ramallah Cultural Palace at 5pm. Throughout the West Bank and Gaza , a range of demonstrations will also take place, including candle light vigils. In addition, free medical services will be available to Palestinian residents in both areas and one million children across the West Bank and Gaza will raise banners, drawings and release balloons to say no to poverty.

5pm Cultural/artistic performance, Ramallah Cultural Palace

- performances by Palestinian school children and artists, including “Poverty Requiem song” which will be sung internationally, dancing, story telling and puppet show
