WNTA team meets Indian PM on mid-term review of MDGs
Wada-Na-Todo-Abhiyan (WNTA), (GCAP India) met Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on July 4,
2007 as part of a delegation led by WNTA partner alliance, Social Watch
India, and presented the Citizen's Report on Governance & Development 2007.
In the half hour meeting, WNTA was able to apprise him of the initiatives being taken to monitor and reinforce the fulfillment of the MDGs across more than 10 states of India, as well as submit the Citizen's Report & key outcomes of the 3rd Civil Society Review of the National Common Minimum Program that was held in May 2007.
WNTA is also taking initiatives marking 7/7/7 in 12 states of India. Each group will be releasing a mid-term review report specific to their state/ sector through public meetings, media conferences and rallies that are being organized as part of this effort. The reports will be hosted on the Reports Section of the WNTA website.
