The Global Call to Action Against Poverty, the world’s largest anti-poverty network, releases a ‘Journal of Hope’ to share messages of strength with the renowned and now imprisoned civil rights activist, Dr. Binayak Sen.

GCAP is currently organising a campaign to protest the recent conviction of Human Rights Defender Dr. Binayak Sen (India).

Dr. Sen was convicted on 24th December 2010 on charges of sedition in the light of his activities criticizing the government's human rights violations against the tribal population in the state of Chattisgarh.

It’s still an under reported tragedy. Over 20 million people in neighbouring Pakistan have lost all but their lives as flood waters continue to surge forth – even three weeks on since heavy rains hit the country.The UN has called for a $460 million response plan to deal with this humanitarian disaster – far worse in its impact than many in recent times put together - the Haiti earthquake, the Indian Ocean tsunami of 2004 and the 2008 Cyclone Nargis.
