10 days of action - countdown to commitments
The 10 Days of Action: Countdown to Commitments is a mobilization tool to help raise awareness, build momentum and deliver key civil society messaging around the UN Conference on the Financial and Economic Crisis and its Impact on Development, scheduled for 24 – 26 June, 2009, at the UN Headquarters in New York City.
The civil society organizations participating in “10 Days of Action: Countdown to Commitments” call on all to take action in the lead up to the United Nations Conference on the Financial and Economic Crisis and its Impact on Development on 24-26 June in New York City. “10 Days of Action: Countdown to Commitments” aims to mobilize public opinion, with the message to world leaders that civil society is watching and expects equitable, sustainable and just solutions to the financial and economic crisis currently ravaging the planet.
The ’10 Days’ is a joint effort with many civil society networks including the GCAP Feminist Task Force, ICAE, ITUC, NGO Committee on FfD, the Global Social Economy Group, the Global Crisis group, the Women’s Working Group on FfD, ESCR-Net, among others.
