Every Human Has Rights: join the campaign this month
2008 is a crucial year in the fight against poverty and inequality and is also the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Article 1 of the Declaration states that ‘All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights’, yet 60 years later these rights face their greatest threat, with extreme poverty confining billions to lives of despair.
It’s time we made human dignity and freedom a reality for everyone. We have the resources to end poverty in our lifetime; together we must urge our leaders to act with fierce urgency.
