Global Day of Action #ACT4SDGS

in

Dear Colleagues,

We the People - take Action for SDGs!

in

Dear Colleagues,

On September 25th 2015 the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted by all members states of the United Nations (UN). We are organizing a global action for the two year anniversary on the 25th September 2017 under the slogan "We the People - take Action for SDGs!".

Many governments publicly congratulate themselves on the progress on the SDGs. But accountability mechanism are weak and the overall implementation has been slow, uneven and non-inclusive. A clear picture of progress of individual countries and the international community can only be achieved if governments work with citizens and civil society on national implementation plans.

Dear Colleagues,

It is encouraging to see the great energy and the many activities on the SDGs and the Agenda 2030. This UN Agenda is not a far-fetched idea which only exists on paper. Many different actors are working on the great transformation – from women’s organisations to scientists and corporate actors. The involvement of many active young people is even more refreshing. This is an agenda of the people.

Dear Colleagues,

GCAP wishes you peace and hope for 2017!

What the year 2017 will be? After what happened in 2016, there is a lot of fear. In 2016 we were shocked by the killings of Berta Cáceres in Honduras in March and of Jo Cox in the UK in June. Many of us knew this two wonderful women fighting for justice and rights
