The People’s Declaration to the Governors of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund From the Global Call to Action Against Poverty We, civil society activists from across the world representing over 100 national coalitions of major global trade unions, faith based organizations, national and international NGOs, human rights organizations, youth groups and women’s organizations gathered here in Washington DC, demand that the governors of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund respond to the people's voices. These voices spoke out loudly and clearly against poverty and inequality during the historic global mobilization on October 17th 2007 on International White Band Day when 38.8million people in more than 111 countries stood up and spoke out against poverty and inequality
