As soon as the numbers are announced, we will issue Washington based
journalists with a press note linking the numbers to the upcoming
events planned by GCAP at the IFI meetings. This will be distributed
via e-mail and at the press centre.

GCAP spokespeople will speak to the press highlighting GCAPs key policy
demands and noting the growing civil society movement calling for an
end to poverty and inequality.

What: Poverty Requiem
When: 1pm
Where: Murrow Park
Details:
A multi-ethnic choir, percussion and dance group from a school in
Pennsylvania will perform the Poverty Requiem. Kumi Naidoo and Sylvia
Borren will introduce the piece.
What: Avatars
When: 8am – 2pm (tbc)
Where: Murrow Park outside the World Bank
Details:
140 life-size cardboard cut out people will be placed for a photo on
the lawn outside the World Bank. Each cut-out or Avatar will represent
a GCAP national coalition
19–22 October
What: Photo exhibition

Details:
Photos of activities that have taken place around the world in 2007 and
2006 will be displayed to make politicians and officials aware of the
growing civil society movement.

What: Lobby meetings

GCAP representatives will meet officials and political representatives
in one to one or small lobby meetings to represent thevoices of people from around the world who cannot be present.
