The World Social Forum (WSF) has come a long way from its modest origins in Porto Alegre, Brazil in 2001 till now. In January 2007 Nairobi, Kenya will host the movement to place social justice, international solidarity, gender equality and peace on the agenda of the world's people.
The Global Call to Action Against Poverty (GCAP) will organise a screening of five documentary films in a programme - Docs Against Poverty - at the World Social Forum 2007 in Nairobi, Kenya.
July 7, 2007 will mark half of the time governments around the world have to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) that they agreed to in 2000. But the way we are continuing, we will take at least 100 years and not seven to achieve the goals.
The Global Call to Action Against Poverty (GCAP) and the United Nations Millennium Campaign (UNMC) invite the media for a Press Conference on 22 January, Monday, at 12.00 at Media Centre - Kasarani. The Press Conference is about - 07.07.07 MDG’s mid term assessment.
With support from the Kenyan GCAP coalition and several other partners, GCAP will co-convene a number of activities in Nairobi, including workshops, dialogues, campaigns and documentary screenings.
